One of the more underrated offseason additions by the Tennessee Titans has been former San Francisco 49ers linebacker, Azeez Al-Shaair.
Al-Shaair is someone who has played very good football throughout his NFL career, and over the last year or so it became glaringly obvious that he was ready for a bigger role.
Fortunately for the Titans, the 49ers were already set with arguably the best linebacker tandem in the league, which ultimately allowed Ran Carthon to acquire someone he’s very familiar with.
Al-Shaair signed a respectable one-year prove-it deal with the Titans in hopes of making bank next offseason after he proves that he’s capable of playing at a high level as a full-time starter.
The Florida Atlantic product is already making his presence felt on the practice field.
Al-Shaair was mic’d up during a recent OTA practice, and it’s clear that he’s already embracing his role as a vocal and emotional leader within the defense.
When he’s not coaching up the younger guys, Tennessee’s new linebacker is seen flying all over the field, often letting his presence be known every time he’s near the ball.
It should also be noted that Al-Shaair looks to be in fantastic physical shape. Whenever he’s near the other linebackers, his overall physique appears to be physically superior to the rest of the group.
The Titans’ insider backer seems to be establishing himself as the alpha of the room in every possible way, so hopefully that confidence translates to game days this fall.
