The Magpies beat Everton 3-1 - a Mason Holgate own goal was followed by strikes from Ryan Fraser and Kieran Trippier, a victory that took United out of the relegation zone.
It was only the club's second win at home this season, and the relief on the final whistle was clear for everyone to see.

Sunderland had taken the lead just after the half-hour mark but couldn't hold on to beat Chelthnam who started the day just four points above the drop zone.
The game finished 2-1.
It marks a tough time for United's rivals - who sacked their manager Lee Johnson last month following a 6-0 thrashing off Bolton and are yet to replace him. They've since lost to the bottom side Doncaster as well as Tuesday's defeat to Cheltenham.
