If anyone had doubts about whether Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce can continue to play at a high level at 33 years old, those doubts should have been nixed before they even began.
Kelce may be turning 34 in a couple of months, but that doesn’t mean he’s not still the best tight end in the game. Heck, he’s still one of the best receivers in the game.
Not that you need any proof, but here’s a look at Kelce getting past starting safety Justin Reid in Wednesday’s training camp practice:

Sure, it’s just training camp, but it’s still a microcosm of what to expect from Kelce: another 1,000+ yard season, which, if it happens, would be his eighth 1,000-yard season in a row.
At this rate, Kelce should be able to catch up with Chiefs great tight end Tony Gonzalez, who holds the team record for most receiving yards at 10,940 and receiving touchdowns at 76, just 596 more yards and seven more TDs than Kelce.
At some point we’ll have to ask the question of whether Kelce will catch up to Tony G’s tight end receiving yards record of 15,127, and Antonio Gates’ tight end receiving TDs record of 116. Tony G and Gates played until they were 37 and 38 years old, respectively, so why not Kelce?
