Tee Higgins gave the Cincinnati Bengals a 14-6 lead in the first half of the “Thursday Night Football” showdown with the Miami Dolphins.
All it took was a little one-on-one coverage from Dolphins corner Xavien Howard.
It gets even better — it was a wake-up call moment for the offense on a 3rd-and-11 attempt just before halftime. Joe Burrow saw the single coverage, let the Dolphins think he was going at Ja’Marr Chase and then delivered the strike.
This, after drives and drives of struggles and so-so play-calls from the coaching staff. Miami had appeared to be baiting the Bengals into deep passing attempts and Burrow and Higgins finally took it:
