WATCH: Team India, fans celebrate Asia Cup triumph

NEW DELHI: India clinched a resounding 10-wicket victory over Sri Lanka to lift the Asia Cup title, with Mohammed Siraj delivering a sensational spell.

Siraj played a pivotal role in India's success by dismantling the Sri Lankan batting lineup, claiming six wickets in the final match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday.

Siraj stars as India rout Sri Lanka for eighth Asia Cup crown

Sri Lanka, after winning the toss and opting to bat, suffered a humiliating collapse, with their top six batsmen being dismissed for just 12 runs. Their innings came to a close in a mere 15.2 overs.

Siraj's remarkable figures stood at six wickets for 21 runs in seven overs, while Hardik Pandya contributed with three crucial wickets.

India wasted no time in chasing down the modest target of 51 runs, accomplishing it in just 6.1 overs, with Shubman Gill (27 not out) and Ishan Kishan (23 not out) guiding the way.

Following their victory, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) shared a beautiful video illustrating India's journey to clinching the Asia Cup title and showcasing the jubilant celebrations among fans.

This was India's eighth Asia Cup title win.

Siraj, for his spectacular show, bagged the Player of the Match award.

Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav, with nine wickets, was awarded the Player of the Series award.
