WATCH: Swansea City's Irish striker Michael Obafemi can't contain laughter in interview after Blackburn winner

Dubliner Michael Obafemi didn’t have the easiest of times as he was interviewed following his first home goal for loan club Swansea City.

The Ireland international netted his second goal for the Swans in their 1-0 Championship win over promotion-chasing Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

While he found his composure in front of goal, he found it somewhat more difficult to compose himself in the post-match interview with the Welsh club’s in-house media.

Obafemi was interviewed alongside teammate Jamie Paterson after the game but the pair couldn’t contain their laughter during a hilarious exchange.

The striker was repeatedly asked by Swansea social media manager Sophie Davis how he felt on scoring his first goal at the Liberty but he couldn’t keep in the giggles.

Obafemi notched the winning goal at the Liberty Stadium despite the Swans playing half the game with ten men after compatriot Ryan Manning’s red card early in the second half.

“It felt amazing to get that first goal in front of the home fans, they have been so welcoming to me and I am so glad I could repay them,” Obafemi eventually said.

“It just makes me even hungrier to score more goals. It felt just amazing and I need to get that feeling back on a regular basis now and show what I can do.”

Swansea face Stoke City, managed by former Shamrock Rovers boss Michael O’Neill, on Tuesday and will look to take their form into the game.

“I think 100 per cent that this win is a bit of a statement for us, they have been doing really well and are high up in the table.

“We played a long time with 10 men, but we dug deep and got the win and we can take a lot from that.

“You can see how much it meant to us and to the fans by the celebrations at the final whistle, we need it to be onwards and upwards from here.

“We will go into Tuesday looking to get a good result and start a good run”
