Watch stunning scenes in Everton away end at the Amex after Brighton win

Everton have just secured a vital victory in their battle against relegation and were roared on by an incredible away following at Brighton.

The Blues won 5-1 at the Amex this evening, ending a run of seven games without a win. It means Sean Dyche's men have moved up to 16th in the table after defeats to Leicester City and Leeds United.

Abdoulaye Doucoure opened the scoring inside the opening 34 seconds when he fired home Dominic Calvert-Lewin's low cross, before the midfielder added a second when he finished a counter-attacking move. Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele then turned the ball into his own net for number three 10 minutes before the break.

A brace from Dwight McNeil, in between an Alexis Mac Allister strike, then completed the rout for the Blues in the second half. And there was a stunning moment post-match when the travelling Blues belted out the club classic 'Spirit of the Blues' for several minutes in the rain. Watch the video below, filmed by our reporter Joe Thomas:

Speaking after the win, Everton goalscorer McNeil said: "Massive. We started on the front foot; we had a game plan, and we stuck to it. We were all brilliant today, and we deserved the three points.

"We started off so well; we couldn't have gotten off to a better start. It's a credit to the lads; we've been in a difficult position this year. Now we've just got to build on this game for the massive last three games ahead.

"Massive confidence now; this is about us kicking on as a team. We have a massive game on Sunday and then two massive games after that."
