Los Angeles Rams rookie quarterback Stetson Bennett was mic’d up in his NFL preseason debut. Bennett, a former two-time national champion at the University of Georgia, is battling Brett Rypien for the No. 2 quarterback role behind Matthew Staffed in Los Angeles.
In Bennett’s preseason debut, he completed 17 of 29 pass attempts for 191 passing yards and a touchdown. Bennett guided the Los Angeles Rams on three scoring drives after having a few near-turnovers early in the game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Stetson Bennett’s competition, Brett Rypien, completed three of six pass attempts for 11 passing yards. The two quarterbacks will continue to battle throughout the remainder of preseason. Los Angeles is notorious for not playing starters in preseason action, so Rypien and Bennett should get a lot of looks.
