Watch: Steph Curry beats buzzer with deep 3-pointer before halftime in Game 5 vs. Lakers

Trailing 3-1 to the Los Angeles Lakers and facing elimination, the Golden State Warriors needed Steph Curry to come through clutch in Game 5 on Wednesday to extend the series. 

In the first half of Game 5, Curry picked up right where he left in Game 4 with a 31-point triple-double performance. Through two quarters, Curry notched 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field to go along with six assists and three rebounds in 20 minutes.

With the Warriors surging to a lead behind a barrage of early 3-pointers, Curry put an end to the first half with an exclamation point. With time ticking down in the second quarter, Steph Curry swished a deep jumper before the halftime buzzer with Lonnie Walker IV guarding him closely.

Curry’s buzzer-beater put the Warriors in control with an 11-point lead going into the break. Behind Curry, the Warriors cruised to a 121-106 win over the Lakers in Game 5 to extend the series. 

The defending NBA Finals MVP finished the game with 27 points on 12-of-24 shooting from the field with eight assists and three rebounds in 39 minutes in Game 5. 

The series will shift back to Hollywood for Game 6 on Friday.
