Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell made his first career start against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 18. His first career pass went for a 16-yard touchdown to wide receiver Terry McLaurin.
Howell would finish the first half by completing six of 10 passes for 66 yards in the first half with a touchdown and an interception. Howell also picked up some big first downs with his legs, rushing for 26 yards on four attempts.
Howell led the Commanders to a 13-6 lead at halftime, as Washington’s defense held Dak Prescott and the Cowboys to 111 total yards in the first half.
How would Howell respond in the second half?
After a conservative start to the half, offensive coordinator Scott Turner decided to become a little more creative later in the third quarter, leading to Howell’s first career touchdown run.
