It’s starting to heat up in Minnesota. The Vikings held the 49ers on a fourth-down attempt from the Minnesota two-yard line. Which meant the Vikings had to take over on their own two-yard line.
But no worries.
After a false start and a two-yard carry, Sam Darnold threw a ball 50 yards in the air to Justin Jefferson, who did the rest. Jefferson ran the rest of the way for a 97-yard score, a new career-high. Darnold put the ball right on the money to an in-stride Jefferson, who had two 49er defenders beat.
While it’s still early, for how much doubt was cast on this Vikings’ team, Minnesota is looking great through the middle of the second quarter. The Vikings are now leading the 49ers 10-0.
Sam Darnold has 135 yards and a score, while Jefferson has caught for 117 yards on three catches with a touchdown.
We're really about to put an active player in Canton.@JJettas2
