Watch: Rubik’s Cube completed in staggering 3.134 seconds, smashing record

This is the mind-boggling moment a young cuber smashes the world record for completing a Rubik’s Cube in just over three seconds.

Max Park, 21, blew the minds of his fellow “cubers” as the Netflix star nimbly completed the colourful puzzle in 3.134 seconds.

Mr Park, who was diagnosed with moderate to severe autism as a child, has won hundreds of speed competitions before breaking the record of the 3x3x3 single-solve competition on Monday.

In the clip, Mr Park claps his hands together and punches the air as the onlooking crowd is sent into hysterics.

One young steward fights to keep the baying fans back to protect the timer which was stopped at 0.34 seconds before the previous record.

The Guinness World Records replied to the impressive feat, saying on Instagram: “Congratulations Max, that was truly incredible!”

Another fan commented: “The Rubik’s Cube world record is officially less than π.”

Another added: “Max. You have accomplished the unthinkable. The whole community was waiting for the record for almost five years, and you’ve done it. You’re absolutely an inspiration to me and many more cubers around the world.”

Mr Park, from California, has the motto “Don’t think, just solve”, and has already been declared the Red Bull Rubik’s World Cup winner three years running.

The Guinness World Records praised the abilities of the Korean American diagnosed with autism aged just two on their site.

They said: “The cubing prodigy has taken this skill to whole new heights and in the process made a name for himself. He is without a doubt one of the best speedcubers in the world right now.”
