Ronnie O'Sullivan came agonisingly close to breaking the record for the fastest century break in the history of the game at the BetVictor Scottish Open on Monday.
'The Rocket' recorded a stunning break of 118 in a time of 3 minutes and 34 seconds in the second frame of his 4-0 win over Bai Langning.
Initially clocked at 3 minutes and 24 seconds, many believed that O'Sullivan had smashed the record of 3 minutes 31 seconds set by Tony Drago of Malta 26 years ago. Upon review, however, it was determined that the break took 10 seconds longer than initially stated, meaning Drago holds onto the record.

Regardless, it was a fabulous frame of snooker by O'Sullivan and one that evoked memories of his blistering 147 frame in a little over five minutes at the 1997 World Championships.
And although 'The Rocket' fell just short of the century record on Monday, it was still fabulously entertaining for the crowd in attendance.
