Watch: Retro footballers armed with penny floater 'throw man in wig in wheelie bin'

It has to be a stag do. Surely.

Just look at the ingredients.

Blokes dressed as retro footballers. Stolen wheelie bins. A penny floater.

But as this footage shows, this kick-about on Percy Street got a bit - well - lairy on Saturday afternoon.

One of the group was unceremoniously dumped head first into a nearby wheelie bin acquired by the footballers.

Some of the group then started booting the bin as the hapless man - sporting an afro wig - desperately tried wriggling his way to freedom as vehicles - including a Northumbria Police van - watched on.

They then ditched the bin outside Milligans before a game of football broke out.

And to be fair, if Rafa stays, Newcastle United could do a lot worse than taking a look at the lad who put that slide tackle in.

There are shades of Edgar Davids about him, as he wins possession with pinpoint accuracy before trying to clear his lines.

And the number seven he wins the ball off had a good touch for a big lad.

But then it all goes a bit south.

The penny floater ends up on the road. Cars have to stop. The officials they have with them - including linesman - are unable to bring order.

At the same time, the dishevelled lad in the bin is seen trying to pull the shorts up - which have unfortunately slipped just a bit.

But as Saturday afternoons in Newcastle go, this is pretty much par for the course.
