Watch: Recently opened Howth ice cream shop is one of the town's stunning hidden gems

OMG Ice Cream in Howth is one of the town's hidden gems that is more than worthy of a visit.

With a range of ice creams, cookie sandwiches, hot chocolates and waffles on offer, your sweet tooth may well jump for joy when entering this pokey little place.

OMG Ice Cream opened in Howth last summer and the Malahide store soon followed. Situated in two equally picturesque corners of north County Dublin, the indulgent ice cream is arguably a perfect compliment to any sun-filled, fun-filled day out by the coast.

Dublin Live paid a visit to the shop on Abbey Street in Howth where manager Joanne Power explained what the store has on offer and what it's all about.

She revealed: "The name, it invites people in. It's ice cream to die for, heavenly delightful."

Showing us the variety of ice cream flavours on offer, Joanne reveals that some of the popular ones include Cookies & Cream and Kinder Bueno.

Beside the ice cream, customers can find The Buddy Cup. Originally established by influencer Conor Ryan in Priorswood, The Buddy Cup has become a roaring success.

Joanne revealed that the hot chocolate available from The Buddy Cup includes flavours such as Nutella, Biscoff and the most popular one, Kinder Bueno.

Other delicious items on offer at OMG Ice Cream in Howth and Malahide include Bubble waffles and Ice Cream Sandwiches, each of which promise to be as mouthwatering as each other.

Speaking about who comes into the shop to enjoy the sweet treats, Joanne said: "We open until 9.30pm every night and that's probably our busiest time, when all the young people like to come out. They're going for a drive or a walk and they just stop in for some ice cream."

She added: "Hopefully we're going to have a lot more of these ice cream shops as well."
