Starting 0-2 is not how anyone envisioned the Baltimore Ravens’ season after a league-best 13-4 record and AFC Championship appearance. The two close losses have led to intense scrutiny of longtime head coach John Harbaugh, specifically for some of his coaching decisions and game management against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2.
Although it might sound hyperbolic this early in the season, the Ravens face a must-win situation against the 1-1 Dallas Cowboys on the road this Sunday to avoid falling to 0-3. Next on the schedule are games against the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. If Baltimore does lose on Sunday, Harbaugh’s job security will be an even bigger topic.
One thing is clear, though: Harbaugh has not lost the support of his players through a challenging first two weeks. Before departing for their game against the Cowboys, Ravens players surprised Harbaugh with special shirts ahead of his birthday on Monday. The shirts read “Happy Birthday, Harbs” and feature several pictures of Harbaugh on the front.

Harbaugh has been lauded as an excellent leader of men over his long tenure as Baltimore’s head coach. That is evident in the love and appreciation his many players have expressed for him over the years.
