Family is incredibly important to Steve Avila so when he could finally afford to reward his mom for all that she’s done, he didn’t pass up the opportunity.
After finishing his second season in the NFL, the Los Angeles Rams standout left guard surprised his mom with a brand new car. The moment was caught on video, too, bringing her to tears over the incredibly kind gesture.
Avila grew up in Texas and attended TCU, so he hadn’t been away from home until he got drafted by the Rams in the second round last year. Though there was certainly a transition going from college to the NFL, he’s made the jump look easy.
Avila, 25, has played 27 games in the NFL, starting all of them, since being drafted 36th overall out of TCU in 2023.
