WATCH: Raith Rovers v Hamilton preview as John Rankin and Dario Zanatta target SPFL Trust Trophy glory with Accies

The SPFL Trust Trophy final is almost upon us as Raith Rovers and Hamilton Accies prepare to contest the silverware in Sunday.

Accies fans are expected to flock to the Falkirk Stadium for the big clash and Lanarkshire Live Sport were at the host venue this week as John Rankin and his counterpart Ian Murray got up close to the prize on offer.

Whoever walks away victorious will be collecting their first trophy as a manager.

Hamilton's Championship rivals and the current holders stand between the club and their first cup win in 30 years and we also caught up with Accies' Canadian winger Dario Zanatta, who won the trophy with Raith last season.

More than 1500 Accies fans are set to make the trip and Rankin hopes to give them the success they crave, amid a difficult season which has the side scrapping for league survival.

He said:"We are looking forward to it. A lot of our players haven't played in a cup final so it will be a good experience for them.

"The players are vibrant, they are bouncy, they are really looking forward to the game - and who wouldn't be, it's a cup final.

"Our supporters have been fantastic and they are going to come out in their numbers, so it is time to give them a wee bit back and what more to do than give them some silverware on Sunday.

"It's a great opportunity for our supporters to come out for a one-off game that they have not had for a number of years.

"But not only that, I look at the support that the chairman Allan Maitland, Colin McGowan and Ronnie MacDonald [both board members and former chief executives] have given us this season.

"Their support has been great because the club has obviously gone through some difficult spells this season.

"So this day is a chance for me and the players to give them something back to them as well."

Kick-off on Sunday is at 4.15pm and the match will also be shown live on BBC Alba.
