Watch rail traveller get a surprise proposal at Euston station

Here's something nice that's sure to give you that warm and fuzzy glow. It was just a regular afternoon at Euston Railway Station in London when suddenly things took an unexpectedly romantic turn for one lucky traveller.

The Avanti West Coast Euston station might seem an unlikely venue for a romantic proposal, but not so for one couple who were very familiar with the station, having made journeys to and from there many times as they'd conducted a long-distance relationship with each other.

With commuters going about their business around them, Nirmal Chohan, who lives in London, finally got down on one knee in front of the departure boards as his girlfriend Vidya Patel arrived at the station on a visit from her home in Birmingham. As a long-distance couple, it is a spot where the pair have met up dozens of times over the years since they first met in 2014.

After Vidya accepts the proposal, cheers erupt from the balcony above and from onlookers down on the concourse. We wish them every happiness and from now on, we will also be hanging around at Euston Station if anyone would like to propose.

Euston Railway Station known as London Euston was the first inner-city London railway terminal opening in 1837. Not only has it been the setting for the start of this young couple's happy union, it's also provided the backdrop for some TV and movie scenes too including episodes of Law and Order (2009) and Prime Suspect (1991).
