It might be a different circuit, but some principles of watching professional golf remain the same — like making sure you’ve got an eye on the ball if you’re sitting halfway down the fairway.
Case in point: the gentleman who had his back turned during the third and final round at Centurion Club for the LIV Golf Series opener just outside of London. The Saudi-backed, Greg Norman-led league will crown its first winner Saturday.
And while this new league has created a thorn in the side of PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan, it hurt even more for this patron who wasn’t watching as Peter Uihlein pulled a drive to the left.
Watch the pain, and the incredible reaction, unfold here:

The league is spearheaded by Greg Norman and backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, one of the world’s largest sovereign wealth funds.
It all turned out OK for the fan, however, as Uihlein stopped by to greet him and offer penance.
Tee shot survived, souvenir acquired 😂
