Watch: Paul O'Grady's beautiful final TV moments dedicated to his love of dogs

We were rocked by the news in March that beloved comedian, dog lover and TV legend Paul O'Grady had died.

And tonight his colleagues at ITV have gathered the best bits of his new series Paul O'Grady: For the Love of Dogs which shows the presenter remained as his usual self, but tragically in his last TV appearances.

The programme is set to air on ITV 1 showing once again how he impacted the lives of thousands of vulnerable animals.

The much-loved show is set at the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home and throughout the series, Paul has met members of the Battersea staff to talk about the dogs in their care.

In each episode, Paul's always in his element as he meets the pooches who come to Battersea as strays or because their owners can't look after them anymore, and follows each dog's progress through the home.

In a teaser clip for the series, Paul can be seen getting nipped by two dogs, making the dogs a cake which then slides off the plate, and enjoying his time surrounded by animals.

In the first episode, Paul falls head over heels for a Newfoundland that needs major life-changing surgery and can be seen hugging this massive beauty.

Paul also has a nightmare with the hosepipe as it pops out from a paddling pool he was filling for a dog and starts to spray everywhere. He exclaims: "Oh my god, the things come off!" as he wrestles with the hosepipe before bursting into laughter.

Paul O'Grady's For the Love of Dogs will begin on ITV1, on Thursday, April 13 at 8.30pm.
