The New England Patriots found their way into the end zone for a second time in Thursday night’s preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers, and this time, it was courtesy of a touchdown throw by rookie quarterback Joe Milton III.
Milton pump-faked the defense and found wide receiver JaQuae Jackson for a 38-yard touchdown strike to put the Patriots ahead 17-0.
Jackson ran a great route on the play and managed to slip by the defensive back on a juke move. He was running free when Milton spotted him and delivered the touchdown pass. It was an impressive play and promising start for the former University of Tennessee standout.

The Patriots hit the reset button in their quarterback room this offseason with the additions of Milton, Drake Maye and Jacoby Brissett. If anything, this performance shows the depth chart conversations might not stop and end with Brissett and Maye.
Milton could soon be included in those conversations as well.
