Carolina Panthers defensive end Brian Burns just hit a benchmark and he did it in style.
With just over four minutes remaining in the second quarter of their Week 12 matchup against the Denver Broncos, the Panthers got a huge takeaway courtesy of Burns. The fourth-year pass rusher closed in on Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson, who had his offense set up at the Carolina 23-yard line, to chalk up a strip sack and set up a fumble recovery by fellow lineman Yetur Gross-Matos.

The sack moved Burns up to 2.0 on the day and 10.0 on the campaign—a new career-high for the former first-round selection. He’s now amassed 35.5 sacks over 60 games, which moves him past Greg Hardy for the sixth spot on the Panthers’ all-time sack list.
His takedowns also marked the first time he’s gotten to Wilson, adding yet another victim to his “web.” So, of course, Burns had to break out the patented Spider-Man pose to celebrate his achievement . . .
