We don’t necessarily need the old fashioned eye test to determine that Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn is a freak of nature. We can figure that out with athletic tests.
If we rewind to just over a year ago, the University of South Carolina standout, uh, stood out in the ol’ underwear olympics. Even despite not having a traditional combine, Horn’s testing would—among other reasons—be a considerable factor in him being taken with the 2021 draft’s eighth overall pick. Here’s why:
Jaycee Horn was drafted with pick 8 of round 1 in the 2021 draft class. He scored a 9.99 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 2 out of 1790 CB from 1987 to 2021. https://t.co/lAV4lZ81Q1 #RAS pic.twitter.com/eDnzhdlneZ

That’s kinda good, right?
Well, yes. But what’s even better? Getting that visual proof to go along with it.
Horn gave us that this week, as the Panthers social media crew posted a mind-blowing clip from the 22-year-old defender’s recent workout. We’re not sure if words can do this grab justice, so just take a look for yourself . . .

Now, we’ve seen some freakish one-handed catches before. From Randy Moss to Odell Beckham Jr. and even the franchise’s own Greg Olsen. Have we, though, seen a dude—in practice or a game—go with one hand just about behind his head?
Maybe, maybe not. And whatever the case may be, perhaps we’ll get a chance to see it (and more of that athleticism) from Horn during his 2022 comeback campaign.
