The Overwatch 2 multiplayer beta isn’t far away, and Blizzard has given us some exciting details on Sojourn, the sequel’s first new hero.
On Thursday, Blizzard released a ton of information regarding Sojourn’s place on the battlefield via the company blog. She’s best at mid-range encounters, able to duck and weave with ease while blasting through enemy shields with her railgun. Below, we’ll list her abilities.
Overwatch 2 Sojourn abilities and kit
Railgun
- Primary Fire: Rapid-firing projectiles that generate energy on impact
- Secondary Fire: High-impact shot that consumes stored energy
Power Slide
- Ground slide that can cancel into a high jump
Disrupter Shot
- Launch an energy shot that slows and deals damage to enemies within it
Ultimate: Overclock
- Railgun energy auto-charges for a short duration, and charged shots pierce enemies
You’re probably here to see Sojourn in action, though. Check out the new Overwatch 2 gameplay trailer below to see just that!

For you lore fiends, Blizzard also released a video detailing Sojourn’s backstory earlier this week. Unlike her, most of us Canadians don’t have access to Quake-like rail cannons. A crying shame, really.

Overwatch 2’s PvP beta begins April 26, 2022, on PC. So it won’t be long until those that made it into the beta can try out Sojourn for themselves. Let us know if that new ping system prevents toxicity, please!
