'Watch out Man City!' - Manchester United fans go wild at Erik ten Hag's Antony injury update

Manchester United fans have been expressing their delight after Erik ten Hag confirmed Antony could be fit to return for the FA Cup final against Manchester City next weekend.

Ten Hag and the Reds were concerned for Antony's fitness after he went down in pain following a first-half tackle by Trevoh Chalobah on Thursday. The former Ajax man looked to be in tears as he was taken off on a stretcher at Old Trafford.

When asked about the injury at full-time, Ten Hag initially admitted it was serious. "I don’t know [how bad the injury is but] everyone has seen he came off," the Dutchman said.

"I can tell you that it’s serious but we have to wait a minimum 24 hours and then we know probably more about the status of his injury." However, before United's last game of the season against Fulham, Ten Hag seemed to be in an altogether more positive mood.

"We've all seen how he came off and it didn't look great," he told MUTV. "But the first assessment is not too bad and a good opportunity he is available for the cup final next week."

News of Antony's possible return for the Wembley showcase has led to plenty of positivity among the Reds fans. Here is what some of them had to say on Twitter.

So far this campaign, Antony has scored eight goals and notched three assists for United. His most recent goal contribution came through an assist against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In his absence against Fulham, Ten Hag chose to play Alejandro Garnacho on the left with Jadon Sancho on the right.
