Newcastle secured a strong victory over Brentford in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals and you can watch the highlights below.
The Magpies made their way into the Carabao Cup semi-finals after a superb performance at home to Brentford.
Sandro Tonali scored his first goal of the season to put Newcastle ahead within 10 minutes, firing the ball into the bottom right corner past Mark Flekken.
Brentford had a huge penalty appeal just a minute later, as Yoane Wissa went down in the Newcastle box but the appeal was dismissed by the officials.
The Bees were forced into a substitution after just 14 minutes as Ethan Pinnock came off with a leg injury and was replaced by Mads Roerslev.
Eddie Howe’s side doubled their lead just two minutes before the break, as Tonali scored his second of the game – getting onto the end of Anthony Gordon’s cross.
The hosts came close to making it three in the final stages of the opening 45 minutes, as Jacob Murphy’s effort crashed off the post.
Newcastle continued to dominate the quarter final clash, as Murphy had two great chances within a matter of minutes.
The Magpies made it three just before the 70th minute, as Fabian Schar latched onto Bruno Guimaraes’ cross and smashed the ball home.
Ben Mee came close to finding a consolation for the Bees after some good work from Mikkel Damsgaard, but the defender’s header flew just past the post.
The visitors did find a late goal, as Wissa continued his strong goal scoring form after latching on to Byran Mbeumo’s pass – but Newcastle held on to reach the semi finals.

The Magpies return to Premier League action on Saturday, as Eddie Howe’s side travel to Suffolk to face Ipswich who are one of the favourites to be relegated on UK betting sites.
As for Brentford, Thomas Frank will be hoping for a better performance in their upcoming league match – as the Bees face Nottingham Forest at home.
