It wasn’t easy, but Michigan State basketball is dancing once again.
The Spartans received a bid to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday evening, extending the country’s longest active streak of reaching the Big Dance 26 straight appearances. Michigan State landed as a No. 9 seed and will face No. 8 seed Mississippi State in the first round on Thursday.
After a weekend of crazy bubble results, Michigan State was not a lock to make the NCAA Tournament this year. That was seen on head coach Tom Izzo’s face when the Spartans heard their name called on the Selection Sunday show.
