Rangers now face Athletic Club of Spain's Basque region in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Ibrox will host the first leg before Ferguson takes his men to the San Mames a week later.
Before the European scene comes back into consideration, however, Rangers have some domestic action to contend with, starting this Sunday as they make the short trip to Parkhead to face Celtic.
It will be Ferguson's first taste of the fixture from the dugout as he aims to build on the positive momentum at his club.
