This is the moment a dive-bombing squirrel interrupted an Easter service at a south London church.
The rodent dramatically plunged from the ceiling of All Saints Church in Kingston, 44 minutes into a Good Friday Service.
Gasps were heard in the church as the animal whacked into a chorister’s folder while hymns were being sung.
Footage of the fall captures choir singers flinching, surprised by the squirrel’s bumpy landing, while others manage to keep their composure and continue singing.
Sharing the footage on Facebook, All Saints Church Kingston wrote: “A surprise squirrel encounter during the Good Friday Service at All Saints Kingston, credit to the ever professional choir who didn't skip a beat.
“Nothing detracts from the singing of the Good Friday Liturgy at All Saints, not even dive bombing Squirrels.”
The church explained that the squirrel appeared unharmed and was later spotted later on during the service running between the choir stalls.
Back in 2018, a squirrel caused a similar stir when it made a surprise appearance at the London Assembly.
Assembly members were discussing the impacts of London Heathrow airport when they received the unexpected visitor.
The squirrel came into the chamber half a dozen times, running around the table at the centre of the room and drawing the attention of some visiting pupils.
