Matthew Stafford and no-look passes in the playoffs go together like peanut butter and jelly. Everyone remembers his no-looker against the Bengals in the Super Bowl, which came on the final drive of the game, and he pulled off another one Sunday against the Eagles.
On the Rams’ opening possession, he hit the Eagles with a no-look pass to Puka Nacua over the middle, picking up 16 yards. He didn’t do it to showboat, either. His no-look passes have legitimate benefits, like holding the defender in the middle of the field so he doesn’t jump the route and pick off the pass.
It worked to perfection on Sunday, with Nolan Smith being late to react because Stafford’s eyes held him to one side.
