WATCH: Littler vs Van Gerwen World Darts Championship Final Highlights

Luke Littler secured his first World Darts Championship title on Friday evening after a comfortable 7-3 victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final, and you can find the full highlights below.

17-year-old Luke Littler achieved his darting destiny on Friday night, as he breezed to a 7-3 victory over Michael van Gerwen to win the World Darts Championship for the first time in his young career.

Littler took the world by storm when he made his World Darts Championship debut last year, beating Christian Kist, Andrew Gilding, Matt Campbell, Raymond van Barneveld, Brendan Dolan and Rob Cross on his way to the final, where he was beaten by world No. 1 Luke Humphries.

This time around though, after a glittering campaign in which he won the Premier League, the Grand Slam of Darts, the World Series of Darts Finals and several other tournaments, he went one better, lifting the Sidd Waddell trophy to become the youngest player in history to win the World Darts Championship.

The young superstar got off to a flying start in the final, racing to a 4-0 lead over three-time World Champion Van Gerwen, before the Dutchman pulled a set back to make it 4-1. Littler wasn’t fazed however, as he won the sixth, eighth and tenth sets to claim a comfortable 7-3 win.

With the victory, ‘The Nuke’ takes home an impressive £500,000 in prize money, taking his total winnings over the last two years above £1,000,000, lifting him up to No. 2 in the PDC Order of Merit in the process.

Littler also secured the Ballon D’Art, a trophy awarded to the player who registered the highest total of 180s, with the youngster totalling an impressive 76 maximums throughout the tournament. Van Gerwen also finished runner-up in this category, with his total amounting to 56.
