Liam Burt capped off a superb passing move to put Bohemians in front at the break in Dalymount Park against league leaders Derry City.
The Scottish winger, who was restored to the starting line-up up top in a new-look 3-5-2 formation, latched onto a pass from Ali Coote to put Keith Long’s side in front.
Derry had just begun to take the initiative, with Brandon Kavanagh’s passing causing problems, but Bohs showed silky skills to nudge themselves in front.
It was an uncharacteristically loose pass from Kavanagh, which was picked off my Rory Feely, that led to the counter-attacking goal.
Coote exchanged passes with Jordan Flores out wide, and did the same with Promise Omochere inside, before playing in his countryman for a tidy, off-balance finish.
In the other games in the league, Shelbourne led Sligo Rovers 1-0 at the break and Drogheda United were 1-0 up at St Patrick’s Athletic.
At Oriel Park, Dundalk were 2-0 up against UCD and Shamrock Rovers led 1-0 at Finn Harps.
