The 2024 Summer Olympics are now underway in Paris, and it will present a select group of athletes with the special opportunity to make their countries proud by bringing home a gold medal.
For Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, who already has two Olympic gold medals and a bronze medal, it is an opportunity to add to his already impressive resume and legacy.
He was selected to bear the United States flag along with tennis player Coco Gauff during the opening ceremony on Friday, and he became the male basketball player to do so. It is something not even Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson or Kobe Bryant got to do.
James did the honors while positioned in front of a boat that traversed down the Seine, and even rainy conditions couldn’t stop him or any of his mates on the boat.
