Klay Thompson became the sixth player in Golden State Warriors history to score 15,000 points for the franchise. He achieved the feat when facing the Utah Jazz on Thursday (Feb. 15.) Ironically, it was the first time Thompson had come off the bench since his rookie season, meaning almost all of those 15,000 points had come as a starter.
Thompson reflected on his historical career with the Warriors when speaking to the media after the game. He discussed what achieving the feat meant to him and the honor that comes with being part of such an exclusive club of former Warriors players.
It hasn’t been an easy season for Thompson. He’s navigating an impending free agency while also coming to terms with the limitations of his body following two serious injuries and the natural effects of aging.
