Despite what the players around the NFL voted for, Justin Jefferson is arguably the best wide receiver in the league. He proved so during training camp on Thursday when he made another difficult play look like it was an effortless catch.
Justin Jefferson has been working hard during training camp, showing that the money he received in his new extension isn’t changing him. He knows what earned him that massive contract extension, and he plans on maintaining that edge on everyone he plays against.
On Thursday at training camp, Brian Flores’ defense was able to cover Jefferson, but that doesn’t mean he won’t make a play. He was able to extend up and make a one-handed catch over the defender and bring the ball down to make a play.
That edge that Jefferson brings to any pass coverage against him is what will make Sam Darnold and, eventually, J.J. McCarthy find success easier in 2024 and beyond.
