It's one of the most celebrated occasions in the Lanarkshire calendar – Lanark Lanimer Day.
Today, thousands have lined the streets and enjoyed the joyful scenes taking place in the Royal Burgh.
This year's celebrations have been made extra special as the historic event returns to its former glory after two years of Covid restrictions.
It all kicked off at 10am today as the morning parade got underway. That saw the Lanimer Queen's State Procession take place where crowds in their droves could be seen taking to the streets to join in the fun.
Riders made their way through Lanark town centre on horseback, led by a wonderful display of pipers.
Lanarkshire Live was in attendance and it really felt like a carnival atmosphere at its very best.
Jubilant locals even watched from their windows, looking out in awe with a great view of the celebrations unfolding.
Local businesses were part of the procession, donning lots of colour and with some in fancy dress, meanwhile some vehicles and trailers were also dressed for the occasion.
It was all building up to this afternoon's much-anticipated Crowning Ceremony – the pinnacle of the Lanimer celebrations.
This year's Lanimer Queen, Caitlin Stewart of Lanark Primary School was crowned in front of thousands of cheering locals.
It followed a touching speech by the Crowning Lady, Karen Brown, who said: "Caitlin, it is my greatest honour and privilege to be standing here representing out ancient royal burgh in this extra special year of 2022."
She added: "I hope that your reign is an extra special one with memories that you will treasure forever."
The Lanimer Day celebrations continue this evening with the Lord Cornet's Declaration and an Evening Spectacular at 5.15pm.
This is led by the Massed Pipe Bands parade down High Street to the Cross, and followed by a trumpet fanfare.
Locals can then enjoy the Silver Parade before the West Lothian Schools display.
Plenty more musical entertainment takes place throughout the evening before the finale and march off.
The historic week kicked off on Sunday, June 5, with the Kirkin’ of the Lord Cornet Elect at St Nicholas Parish Church.
A special presentation was held for the Lord Cornet Derek McGuiness before a procession took place with locals turning out in their numbers.
The Perambulation of the Marches event, a tradition dating back to 1752, saw the streets of Lanark awash with colour as thousands joined the parade.
The procession left from Lanark Sheriff Court and continued on its 7km route round the town's northern boundary.
That was before the Equestrian Procession and Shifting of the Burgh Ceremony took place later in the evening.
