Jared Verse is likely going to win Defensive Rookie of the Year and he made a play on Monday night that shows why he’s deserving of the award.
In the second quarter against the Minnesota Vikings, Verse scooped up a loose ball after Ahkello Witherspoon got home for the sack, knocking it out of Sam Darnold’s hand. Verse turned on the jets and ran 57 yards for a touchdown, giving the Rams a 17-3 lead over the Vikings.
It was the biggest play of the game so far, taking all the momentum away from the Vikings after they got into Rams territory.

This angle of his flip into the end zone was particularly cool.

Verse had two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in the regular season but this was his first career touchdown as a pro – and it couldn’t have come at a better time.
