There was some Jared-on-Jared crime at the end of the first half on Sunday night, though it was a play that should have Rams fans excited about their first-round pick.
With 15 seconds left in the second quarter, Jared Verse brought down Lions quarterback Jared Goff for his first career sack in the NFL. Goff didn’t sense Verse coming from the blindside as he was drilled in the back, a play that very easily could’ve resulted in a fumble.
The play capped off a disappointing first 30 minutes for the Rams, but it shows the potential that Verse has as a pass rusher. He beat the left tackle with some beautiful hand technique, a great sign for the rookie edge rusher.
