Watch: James Robinson shows progress from Achilles injury

There are several key players the Jacksonville Jaguars will be getting back from injury, and James Robinson may be among the most notable. The third-year player didn’t quite have the 2021 campaign he wanted due to an Achilles tear that placed him on season-ending injured reserve in December.

With such a difficult injury to return from, many fans have expressed their concerns about how Robinson will look when he returns– and unfortunately, that answer won’t be known until training camp. But if the video Robinson recently shared of himself working out on Instagram is any indication, his recovery may be trending in the right direction.

In the now deleted video which his agent has reposted, Robinson is seen running. Although he’s not shown running at full speed, the video appears to support Doug Pederson’s claims that Robinson is on pace to return during training camp.

While Robinson’s progress may be shocking to some, a speedy recovery isn’t necessarily out of the realm of possibilities. With modern medicine, fans witnessed Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers return in nearly five months after tearing his Achilles in the middle of July last year. He was cleared to practice on Dec. 23 and actually was able to see time on the field Week 17 and beyond.

With Robinson’s injury occurring late in the season, he’s at least had the offseason to recover. And when training camp arrives around July 24, Robinson will be almost seven months away from the injury.

It goes without saying the Jags would be wise to take it slow with Robinson heading into the regular season. However, if this video is any indication, the progress he seems to have made could be a good sign.
