The Jacksonville Jaguars preached a fast start all week, but fell into old habits early against the Kansas City Chiefs. After opening with a three-and-out, the Chiefs scored first with a touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce.
It was the 11th time in the Jaguars’ last 12 games that the opponent scored first. Fortunately for Jacksonville, kick returner Jamal Agnew got the team back on the right track.
Immediately after the Chiefs got on the scoreboard first, Agnew set up the Jaguars with great field position by returning the ensuing kickoff 63 yards.

Five plays later, the game was tied when Trevor Lawrence found Christian Kirk on a wheel route in the corner of the end zone.

The Jaguars have had the tendency to bury themselves in deep holes before climbing from them late in the game. During a Week 10 loss to Kansas City, the Chiefs scored the first 20 points of the game.
Thanks to Agnew and a great throw from Lawrence to Kirk, Jacksonville avoided doing the same in the Divisional Round.
