Ohio State is off to the College Football Playoff National Championship game to face Notre Dame. But it wasn’t easy. Clinging to a seven-point lead, the defense was asked again to make yet another stop. Texas drove down the field fairly quickly and then two pass interference calls put the Longhorns on the one-yard line with a first and goal.
The defense did what it’s done so many times this year. The Buckeyes would stuff a first-down run and string out another for a loss. Eventually, Quinn Ewers faced a fourth down to tie the game from the eight-yard line. Enter Jack Sawyer who came off the edge to hit Ewers, knocking the ball loose where Sawyer would scoop it up and rumble 83 yards to secure the Buckeye victory.
