Israeli hostage families gathered in Tel Aviv as news broke of Hamas accepting a ceasefire deal to pause the war in the Middle East.
Residents with family members held captive by Hamas gathered at Begin Gate holding pictures and posters of their loved ones today (15 January).
The ceasefire brings to an end to 15 months of war, after months of negotiations brokered by Egyptian and Qatari mediators.
The deal was reached after the Qatari prime minister met Hamas and Israeli negotiators in his office, a source close to the negotiations has told The Independent’s world affairs editor Sam Kiley.
