WATCH: Girona 0-1 Liverpool Champions League Highlights

Liverpool maintained their 100% record in the Champions League league phase with a 1-0 win away at Girona on Tuesday evening, and you can find the full match highlights below.

Salah Scores From The Spot As Reds Maintain Perfect Record

Champions League and Premier League leaders Liverpool headed to Spain to take on La Liga side Girona on MD6 of the league phase on Tuesday evening, with the Reds back in action after the Merseyside derby’s postponement on Saturday.

Perhaps surprisingly to Arne Slot and co., it was the hosts who were on top during the early stages of the tie. Some decent chances came the way of Tottenham loanee Bryan Gil and Yaser Asprilla, but they were unable to convert.

Alisson, back in the lineup after over two months on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury, enjoyed a standout performance in the first period, denying Michel’s side an opener on several occasions with some fine stops.

The pendulum would soon swing in Liverpool’s favour though, as they were handed a golden opportunity to take the lead on the 63-minute mark.

Reds winger Luis Diaz was brought down in the box after a clumsy challenge from former Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek, and after a consultation with VAR, a penalty was awarded to the visitors.

Mohamed Salah stood up to the task, smashing beyond Paulo Gazzaniga to give his side the advantage, becoming the first ever Liverpool player to score 50 goals in European competitions in the process.

The Reds were able to hold on to their slender lead for the remaining half hour or so, seeing them maintain their perfect record and their position at the top of the table, while Girona remain outside of the knockout-qualifying positions.

Up next for Girona is a return to La Liga action on Saturday afternoon with a trip to Mallorca. They’re back in Champions League action in January, as they face AC Milan on MD7, before hosting Arsenal in their final league phase match.

As for the Reds, they return to domestic action with a Premier League clash against Fulham on Saturday, followed by a Carabao Cup quarter-final matchup against Southampton a few days later. Their final two league phase fixtures see them take on Lille at Anfield and Eredivisie champions PSV in Eindhoven.
