Kentucky quarterback Will Levis hasn’t had the kind of season many expected from him so far, but Saturday’s matchup against top-ranked Georgia gave him the perfect opportunity to silence his doubters.
Despite a handful of impressive plays in the first half, Levis learned a hard lesson about challenging one of this year’s top cornerback prospects.
On a 3rd-and-12 inside the red zone early in the second quarter, Levis was shooting for the end zone when Bulldogs cornerback Kelee Ringo jumped in front of the pass.
The interception ended a key opportunity for the Wildcats to tie or even take the lead, and gave the ball right back to Georgia offense instead.
If Levis wants to be one of the first quarterbacks off the board in the 2023 NFL draft, he’ll have to play with more consistency, and improve his decision-making, especially in the red zone.
