Gary Payton II has been out of the Golden State Warriors rotation due to a calf injury. The veteran wing has been struggling for fitness throughout the current season, but when healthy, has been an impact maker off the bench. As such, Warriors fans have eagerly been waiting for his return from his latest setback.
On Sunday, December 10, a video surfaced of Payton II working out on an exercise bike in what appears to be another step forward in his recovery. Payton II is likely working on his conditioning but is likely still not cleared to resume basketball activities.
Nevertheless, the video is an encouraging sign of the veteran’s recovery. Payton II likely has some more hurdles to clear before he’s back in the rotation, and an immediate return is unlikely.
