Watch: Former Ohio State baseball star gets his first MLB hit

Through the first four-plus games of former Ohio State baseball star Dominic Canzone’s first taste of Major League Baseball, he was still searching for his first hit.

After starting Tuesday night’s game against the Atlanta Braves and going 0-for-4, Canzone stepped up to the plate with his Arizona Diamondbacks down a run. The outfielder who started as the designated hitter came up with a clutch base hit right field to tie the game at 13 in the bottom of the 8th inning.

Canzone was visibly excited, who wouldn’t be? His first major league hit, and first RBI at an important juncture in the game that helped his team get a victory.
