WATCH: Former Ohio State baseball player gets first Major League hit

In case you missed the news earlier this week, former Ohio State catcher, Dillon Dingler was promoted to the Major League’s with the Detroit Tigers and appeared in Monday’s game vs. the Cleveland Guardians in Commerica Park.

It was a memorable start to his career because Dingler not only got his first MLB hit, but he drove in a run as an extra base hit while doing it. It all happened in the 7th inning with the Tigers trailing the Guardians 8-0. Dingler took a 1-1 pitch and drove it into the right field corner for a run-scoring double against Guardians starter Tanner Bibee.

In case you didn’t get to see this memorable liftime moment for Dingler, you can check it out thanks to the Detroit Tigers’ “X” account.

Good on Dingler. We’ll continue to keep an eye on what this former Buckeye is doing in the majors and hope he’s in for a long, major league career.
