Watch: Forgotten Celtic loanee continues fine form with another goal

On-loan Celtic winger Marco Tilio scored again for Melbourne City on Friday.

After Asumah Abubakar-Ankra's early opener, Tilio equalised for his team just before the hour mark.

The Australian brilliantly controlled a cross-field pass, beat his man, and expertly finished past goalkeeper Matt Acton:

The 23-year-old was named FotMob's player of the match for his performance. Indeed, as well as scoring, Tilio created the most chances of any player on the pitch.

He has found form over recent weeks, contributing to five goals in his last seven appearances.

Tilio is due back at Celtic, whom he has only played for twice, this summer. He initially joined the Parkhead side in 2023, just as Brendan Rodgers returned to the club.

It remains to be seen whether he has a long-term future in Glasgow's east end: "It’s been a really, really hard transition for him," Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers said shortly after Tilio swapped Australia for Scotland.

"The intensity of the game is totally different to what he is used to, so it’s been a challenge for him in training.

"I am not in any big rush for Marco."
