Usually when a team signs a new quarterback, it becomes the top story for days, weeks or months at a time.
However, when the Atlanta Falcons signed Marcus Mariota to a two-year deal last week, it became a mere footnote to the team trading 14-year veteran Matt Ryan.
Mariota, 28, is a former No. 2 overall pick who spent the last two seasons as a backup for the Raiders. Atlanta hopes to tap into the immense talent that he showed during his impressive career at Oregon.
